GORE-TEX® PRO To meet the needs of our top athletes, mountain guides and serious backcountry skiers, GORE-TEX® Pro is used to provide tough, extremely breathable, waterproof and windproof protection in the harshest conditions. The GORE-TEX® Pro membrame is the most durable in the GORE-TEX® family and is engineered specifically for the most intense work/ rest cycles in backcountry skiing to efficiently regulate temperature and moisture during climbs and descents.

GORE-TEX® WITH FLANNEL BACKER
TECHNOLOGY		 The flannel backer has brushed tricot laminated on the inside of a GORE-TEX® 3L product to improve garment comfort and performance by adding warmth and reducing noise while maintaining guaranteed weather protection.

 

GORE - TEX ® WITH
OUR HYBRID BACKER CONCEPT		 Our quest to create the ultimate 3L for backcountry and powder skiing led us to combine two GORE-TEX® technologies to create an original concept of hybrid backers. We combine GORE® C-KNIT™ Backer Tech‘s excellent breathability, low weight and snow-shedding capability with a Flannel Backer in the jacket’s core and pants’ seat and knees to create added warmth and comfort for the cold days when the snow is at its best.

 

OUTERWEAR FABRICS Outerwear Fabrics start with high-quality face fabrics, custom developed in a variety of weights and weaves that complement each unique design. Our fabrics are laminated to a high -performance waterproof, breathable membrane with a minimum standard of 10K/10K while an additional DWR treatment is applied to the exterior to shed water and snow from the surface.

 

R D S Responsible Down Standard: We are proud to say that ALL of the Down Armada uses is RDS down. The Responsible Down Standard safeguards the welfare of geese and ducks. No force-feeding, no live plucking. The Responsible Down Standard ensures that down and feathers come from ducks and geese that have been treated well. This means enabling them to live healthy lives, express innate behaviors, and not suffer from pain, fear or distress. The standard also follows the chain of custody from farm to product, so consumers can be confident that the down and feathers in the products they choose are truly RDS.

 

FAIR TRADE We are proud and honored to offer products that are certified Fair Trade in this year’s collection. The Fair Trade Certified label is a mechanism to support better wages and safe working conditions. The objective of the standard is to increase empowerment, including leadership, economic development and organization of workers employed in Fair Trade Factories, and to ensure fair working conditions and environmentally responsible production methods. Some of these standards include a guaranteed living wage for the workers, and a premium paid by Armada to be distributed as a cash bonus for, or invested collectively in social needs identified by - the workers. But the Fair Trade label also includes criteria related to labor standards, ability to unionize, and efforts to drive continuous improvement toward cleaner production and restoration of the natural environment.

 

RECCO RECCO®: This avalanche rescue system is utilized worldwide to facilitate the rapid location of burials. The two parts – reflector and detector – enable rapid pinpointing using harmonic RADAR, but are not a substitute for transceiver use. Complementary in function, the RECCO® system increases the chances of being found in time.

 

SCHOELLER® KEPROTEC® Our pant cuffs are reinforced with Schoeller’s Keprotec fabric, originally developed for motorcycle racing and using high-tensile fibers, such as Kevlar®, to ensure high durability.

 

100% SEAM-SEALED STITCHING Waterproof fabric will not keep you dry by itself. In order to complete the waterproofing of a garment, the seams with stitching must be sealed with a waterproof tape. We are proud to say that all of our seams are 100% seam sealed.

 

YKK® AQUAGUARD®
WATER REPELLANT ZIPPERS		 This is YKK’s top of the line Vislon zipper with offset teeth and Pulyurethane coating to improve water resistance and seal off our garments from the elements.

 

YKK® Z I P P E R S Standard throughout the line to provide the highest-quality, most reliable zippers in the industry.

 

HOOD SYSTEM The Vector Hood System provides the ability to easily react to changing mountain weather. The system utilizes a 3-way adjustment, accessible from inside and outside the jacket, and a quick release pull to instantly loosen the hood. All excess bungee stores out of your way, inside the jacket.

 

HELMET-COMPATIBLE HOOD All of our hoods are designed to be fully functional while wearing a helmet.

 

JACKET-TO-PANT SNAP INTERFACE Standard on all our outerwear, our jacket-to pant snap interface provides a simple and ergonomic connection between your jacket’s powder skirt and your pant.
